What cookies are

Cookies are small files a site stores on your device. Some are needed for the site to work at all; others help us understand how the site is used.

Strictly necessary

These cannot be switched off. They keep your basket contents, keep you signed in, and secure the checkout.

  • woocommerce_cart_hash, woocommerce_items_in_cart - remember what is in your basket. Session.
  • wp_woocommerce_session_* - links your basket to your session. Normally two days for guests or seven days when signed in; active sessions can be renewed.
  • wordpress_logged_in_* and wordpress_sec_* - keep you signed in. Normally a browser session, or up to 14 days when you choose Remember me.
  • wordpress_test_cookie - checks whether your browser accepts cookies when you sign in. Browser session.
  • also_consent - remembers your cookie choice for 180 days so we do not keep asking.

Analytics

These help us see which pages are useful and where people get stuck. They are only set if you accept them.

  • FeedPulse fp_aid - an anonymous visitor identifier that connects visits and, when you identify yourself through a form, can connect that browsing history to your profile. Up to 730 days, or until you withdraw analytics consent.
  • WooCommerce sbjs_* cookies - record the source of a visit and its session information. Browser session; sbjs_session has a 30-minute activity window.

Other browser storage

The site also uses browser storage, which works similarly to cookies:

  • also_draft_v1 in session storage remembers the bundle or subscription you are building, including your selections when you visit a coffee page. It is cleared after a successful add to your basket, or when the browsing session ends.
  • also_shortlist_v1 in session storage remembers coffees you choose to shortlist using the heart button. It stays in this browser tab until you remove the coffees or the tab session ends. It is not sent to us.
  • WooCommerce basket fragments in session storage keep the basket icon and basket contents in step during your visit.
  • After analytics consent, FeedPulse uses fp_insights_aid and fp_insights_queue in local storage, and fp_insights_session in session storage. Identity and queued events are removed when analytics consent is withdrawn; local storage otherwise remains until cleared, and session storage ends with the browsing session.
  • fp_insights_consent_v1 remembers the consent state given to the FeedPulse tracker in local storage.

Marketing choices

Advertising integrations have not been enabled for launch. A cookie choice does not sign you up for email marketing: the newsletter form asks for that permission separately.

Managing cookies

You can change your choice at any time using the cookie settings link in the footer.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though the site may not work properly without the strictly necessary ones.
